Find the day of the week for any date

This day of the week calculator uses the Gregorian calendar. In order to find a day of the week in the past, first you have to check when the calendar has changed from Julian to Gregorian in the country for which you are performing the calculation. To find when the calendar changeover took place for a particular country, see Julian to Gregorian calendar by country.

The common leap year rules are used in this weekday calculator. All years divisible by 4 are leap years unless the year can be divided by 100. But any year that can be divided by both 100 and 400 is a leap year. So, for example, the years 1700, 1800 and 1900 were not leap years because they are divisible by 100, but the year 2000 was a leap year because it is divisible also by 400.
