How to Convert Fraction to Percent
A fraction is made up of two parts: a numerator (the number above the line) and a denominator (the number below the line). It is used to represent how many parts we have out of the total number of parts of something.

A percentage is a number or ratio expressed as a fraction of 100. It is a dimensionless number, often denoted using the percent sign, “%”. So, a percent is actually just a special way of expressing a fraction with the denominator 100.

The general algorithm of conversion is as follows:
1) If the fraction is a mixed number, change it to an improper fraction.
2) Then divide the numerator by the denominator.

1 2/5 as a decimal is (5+2) ÷ 5 = 1.4 and as a percentage is 140%
65/100 as a decimal is 65 ÷100 = 0.65 and as a percentage is 65%
2/8 as a decimal is 2 ÷ 8 = 0.25 and as a percentage is 25%
15/5 as a decimal is 15 ÷ 5 = 3 and as a percentage is 300%
