Golden Ratio Calculator

Golden Ratio Calculator (or Golden Section Calculator) is used to calculate the missing values to complete the golden ratio. Enter the value of any parameter (longer segment A, shorter segment B or total length A+B) in the fields of this online calculator and calculate the other two parameters of the golden proportion.

(A + B) / A = A / B

Golden ratio definition

As defined in mathematics two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities:

(A + B) / A = A / B.

The universal golden ratio in the above golden ratio formula is denoted by the letter φ. In our Golden Ratio Calculator we use the estimated value of φ = 1.6180339887499.

The Golden Ratio (also known as golden mean, golden section, medial section, divine proportion, divine section, golden proportion, golden cut and golden number) is what to some extent rules arts. It is seen in many forms of architecture and in some structures of nature, such as leaves in some plants.
