This all-in-one online Sphere Calculator performs calculations using the formulas which relate a sphere radius to its volume, surface area and circumference. Enter the value of any known parameter in the fields of this online calculator and find the remaining unknown parameters.
Sphere Formulas
In mathematics, a sphere is defined as the set of points in a three-dimensional space that are all at the same distance \(r\) (radius of the sphere) from a given point (center of the sphere).
As it is well known from elementary geometry, the formula for the volume \(V\) of a sphere is as follows:
$${\displaystyle V={\frac {4}{3}}\pi r^{3}} ,$$
and its surface area \(A\) and circumference \(C\) are expressed by the following formulas:
$$A=4\pi r^{2} ,$$
$$C=2\pi r.$$
Our all-in-one multipurpose sphere calculator helps find all the above sphere parameters given one known parameter. So this is not just, for example, a sphere volume calculator that calculates the sphere volume given its radius. You can also specify the sphere volume for sphere calculator to find its radius.
Note that we do not specify units of measurement in our calculator. We assume that radius and circumference are measured in the same units of length, surface area is measured in square units of length, and volume is measured in cubic units of length (e.g., m, m2 and m3).
